About Devrai
We are a Panchgani (Maharashtra) based self-sustaining non-profit initiative that works towards evolving indigenous art and craft. We make a wide range of products – from pure art pieces to items of utility, infusing art into everyday life. We have become a bridge between the ancient and the modern, between the arts and crafts tradition in far off remote places, and the mainstream artists/designers of today. At Devrai, contemporary design and traditional arts come together to create quality artefacts that are truly Indian in spirit but universal in appeal.

Devrai Rock Dhokra
Rock Dhokra is our patented process of fusing stone & metal using the ancient lost wax method of metal casting, giving us our identity as an art innovation lab.
Organic Casting
We have discovered a unique process to replicate the intricate textures in nature by directly casting actual leaves, flowers, seeds etc in metal.
Beaten Metal Art
Beaten Metal Art involves skillfully shaping sheet metal & creating intricate artefacts by hammering; inspired by the traditional Bastar Iron craft.
Molten Metal Painting
Molten Metal Paintings are made using abstract pieces of molten metal, along with handcrafted metal sculptures, integrated on a painting on a canvas.
Enamel Art
Enameling is the newest addition to Devrai’s experiments in metal art. It is the process of fusing powdered glass of various colours with metal sheet (copper, silver, gold) by firing.
Fusion Dhokra
Our path-breaking innovation of Rock Dhokra has set us on a trail of new fusion adventures with other materials such as terra cotta, ceramic, glass, and even other metals.
Tumba Craft
There has been a metamorphosis in the traditional dried gourd craft at Devrai. Intricate patterns are hand-etched onto the Tumbas to create lamps, puppets, flower vases, & much more.
Wood Art
A recent addition to our repertoire is wood art, often combined with other materials to create unique mixed-media works. Driftwood has sparked fresh inspiration for a new series of art pieces
Board Games
Today, when we are prisoners of our mobiles, our interactive board games are an effort to inculcate critical thinking & individual thought, all through the fun of play and conversation.
