Nature is one of the main inspirations for our work at Devrai, but it also often becomes the very raw material for our work. This pendant was made using a rectangular cut piece of tree bark, its rough texture acting as the base for the flower motifs made on top with wax, all of which was together cast in brass. This is a blend of the traditional Dhokra work and Organic Casting. The pendant is threaded and decorated with beads and semi-precious stones to create this unique piece of wearable art.

About the Technique: Organic casting is the process of casting organic material (like leaves, fruits, flowers, shells, twigs etc) in brass. Through this process we are able to replicate the patterns and textures in nature.
