This Rock Dhokra sculpture of Shrinathji captures the iconic form of Krishna as a child lifting the Govardhan hill?his raised arm a gesture of protection and quiet strength. Shrinathji holds deep significance in the Pushtimarg tradition, where he is worshipped as the divine child who shelters his devotees.
Shrinathji is made of brass using the traditional Dhokra process, the calf is made using our patented Rock Dhokra process (fusion of stone and metal), and the altar is carved wood.

About the Technique: Dhokra is an ancient form of metal art, also known as lost wax casting. The sculpture is made in wax first, a mould is made around it, and during casting the wax is replaced by brass, thus the name ‘lost wax casting’.
