Devrai Fusion Dhokra
Our path-breaking innovation of Rock Dhokra (patented) has set us on a trail of new fusion adventures of metal with other mediums such as terra cotta, ceramic, glass and even other metals. Typically brass patterns and other embellishments are fused on a basic core of another medium as an integral part of the design idea.
The process is highly labour-intensive, beginning with sculpting wax around a terracotta, ceramic, or glass core, which is later replaced by molten metal. Since the mould must be broken with every casting, each piece is one-of-a-kind and impossible to replicate—even by us.
With casting come inherent risks: the terracotta/ceramic pieces may break, moulds may break, or molten metal might not flow all the way through. That’s why every perfectly cast piece feels like a miracle.
