Situated on a beautifully cultivated hill, in the lap of nature, Devrai Art Village lies between Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani. It houses a gallery showcasing innovation in art and craft, as well as the work sheds where our artists make these creations.

The Gallery

The gallery showcases our wide range of artefacts, each with its unique story. There are finished products for sale and also sample pieces for possible inspiration and customisation.

The Worksheds

Located in the midst of Nature in the garden, the worksheds offer the visitor an opportunity to observe the process of creation and also interact with the artists at work.

The Forest Garden

The word “Devrai” means a sacred grove — a place where people refrain from cutting trees or hunting, due to the presence of a local deity. When the 2-acre DAV premises was named Devrai two decades ago, it was a barren slope — the name was an aspiration. Today, twenty years later, that vision has come to life: the land has transformed into a lush forest garden with over 500 species of trees, shrubs, and climbers.
It offers the ideal ambience and inspiration for our artists, providing an environment that encourages original observation and expression through art.

The Homestay

We offer a cozy home stay room on a BnB basis, for upto 2 people at a time. You can spend a few relaxed days here and soak in the spirit of Devrai – the forest garden, the work areas, and have the chance for some insightful conversations with the hosts.

It is not more than a 2-3 hour drive from Pune, via NH48. If you want to take the local transport, there are buses that ply regularly from Pune to Panchgani.
